Textile Trader Registration Scheme (TTRS)

Who can apply for registration under TTRS?

Any textiles trader holding a valid Business Registration in Hong Kong, whether as an importer, exporter, manufacturer, carrier or freight forwarder, can apply for registration under TTRS.

What is the advantage of  registering under TTRS?

Registered textiles traders may, during the validity period of their registration, lodge notifications instead of licences to cover textiles imports and exports within the scope of TTRS.

How to apply for registration under TTRS?

Traders interested in registering under the TTRS should return the completed Application Form for Textiles Trader Registration (TID 91) and other necessary documents (pdf format), either in person or by registered mail, to the Central Registration Office.

Under normal circumstances, application for registration under the TTRS will be processed within three clear working days (i.e. excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) after the date upon which the application is received. If necessary, the signatory of the application may be invited for an interview and required to produce the original of the documents for examination. On approval, a Certificate of Registration as a Textiles Trader which is valid for one year will be issued and sent to the applicant by registered mail. For details, please click here.

How long is a registration valid for?

Registration is valid for 12 months and is renewable.

How to buy notification forms after registration?

The notification forms are available for sale at the Collection and Form Sales Office (Room 104, 1/F., Trade and Industry Department Tower). Registered textiles traders must present the original or certified true copy of the valid Certificate of Registration as a Textiles Trader when purchasing the notification forms. For details, please click here.

How to lodge notifications?

For shipment by air/sea: Completed notifications should be given to carriers when or before the textiles are imported and before exportation.

Carriers should submit the notification to Trade and Industry Department together with the relevant manifests within 14 days from the shipment date.

For shipment by road: Completed notifications should be given to drivers before importation/exportation who should submit them, with relevant manifests to officers of Customs and Excise Department at border control points at the time of importation/exportation.
