Commercial Information Circular No. 95/2022

European Union (EU)* : Result of expiry review of the anti-dumping measures on acesulfame potassium originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 308/2020 of 14 April 2020, the European Commission published an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/116 on 28 January 2022 to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of acesulfame potassium originating in the Mainland of China following the expiry review. 2.Salient points of the regulation are set out below -

(a) Product : Acesulfame potassium (potassium salt of 6-methyl-1,2,3- oxathiazin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide; CAS RN 55589-62-3) originating in the Mainland of China, currently falling under CN code ex 2934 99 90 (TARIC code 2934 99 90 21)
(b) Rate of duty : EUR 4.58 per kg net product weight (except for two companies whose applicable amounts of duty ranging from EUR 2.64 to EUR 4.47 per kg net product weight)
(c) Effective date : 29 January 2022

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
