Commercial Information Circular No. 531/2022

European Union (EU)* : Suspension of the Common Customs Tariff duties on certain agricultural and industrial products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 927/2021 of 30 December 2021, the Council of the EU (the Council) has adopted a Regulation (EU) 2022/1008 published on 28 June 2022 to amend Regulation (EU) 2021/2278 suspending the Common Customs Tariff (CCT) duties on certain agricultural and industrial products.

2.The suspension of CCT duties applies to products of which the production in the EU is currently either inadequate to meet the specific requirements of the user industries in the EU or non-existent. Those products can be imported into the EU at reduced or zero duty rates.

3.Details of the amendment including CN and TARIC codes, product descriptions, rates of autonomous duty, supplementary units and dates envisaged for mandatory review are set out in the Annex of Regulation (EU) 2022/1008 which shall apply from 1 July 2022 and is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32022R1008&from=EN.
