User Login Account - ULA

(B) TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

1. General
1.1 The Trade and Industry Department (hereafter “the Department”) provides a basket of web-based services and information to eligible traders through their User Login Accounts (ULA) of this website www.tid.gov.hk. The services and information are intended for eligible traders who are companies/registered businesses holding valid Textiles Trader Registration (TTR) and/or Factory Registration (FR) with the Department.
2. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
2.1 The Department provides the services and information through ULAs of this website, subject to the Terms and Conditions of Use (T&C) set out hereby. The T&C may be updated and revised by the Department from time to time.
2.2 Apart from the T&C, ULA holders when using any services provided in this website, including but not limited to making enquiries and lodging applications, are further subject to the relevant conditions of participation as set out by the Director-General of Trade and Industry and announced through Textiles Trader Registration Circulars and/or other circulars published by the Department.
2.3 ULA holders are deemed to have understood and agreed to be bound by all the T&C upon their activation and use of ULAs in this website.
3. Provision of Services and Information
3.1 ULA holders understand and agree that the services and information is provided on an "as is" basis. The Department assumes no responsibility for the untimeliness, deletion and mis-delivery of information or failure of the services provided on the website.
3.2 ULA holders understand that the technical processing and transmission of the services and information concerned may involve data transmission over various networks; and changes in data format to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. The Department shall, accordingly, in no circumstances, be liable for any failure of delivery of services or information or for any inability of the ULA holders to gain access to any of such services and information due to the delay or failure of any communication networks or any party providing such access.
4. Personal Information Collection
4.1 ULA holders are required to provide certain personal data in activating and using their ULAs. Such data include Business Registration Number, Hong Kong Identity Card Number, Passport Number, name of contact person, position, day-time contact telephone number and correspondence email address. The data will be used by the Department for ensuring that the ULA is used by the authentic ULA holder and trader eligible to use the relevant web-based services/information. ULA holders providing incomplete or inaccurate data may be denied access to the ULA and be ineligible for using the services and information on the website.
4.2 The Department is committed to ensuring that all personal data provided in the ULAs are handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Please refer to the relevant Personal Information Collection Statement for details.
4.3 ULA holders should further refer to the relevant Personal Information Collection Statement pertaining to the respective web-based services provided including but not limited to enquiries and applications available in their accounts.
5. Login Name, Password and Security
5.1 Each ULA holder may create a Login Name by himself/herself upon successful registration for ULA service. ULA holder MUST set the Password for its account identifiable by the Login Name. They may and are encouraged to alter the Password via this website from time to time.
5.2 ULA holders are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and authorized uses of their passwords and are fully responsible for all activities that occur with the use of the passwords.
5.3 ULA holders agree and acknowledge that the use of services by any person (whether authorized by themselves or not) with those passwords shall constitute and be deemed to be the use of the same by themselves as the account holders.
5.4 The Department will not be liable for any divulgence of those passwords or loss or damage arising from the ULA holder's failure to comply with the above conditions in connection with the use of any services, including but not limited to making enquiries and lodging applications in the ULAs.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties and Liability
6.1 ULA holders understand and agree that the use of services and information in the ULA is at their own discretion and risk. The Department will not accept any liability for loss or damage resulting from (a) the use of and inability to use the services and information obtained through or from the ULA; and (b) events of interrupted or delayed services and information; and, (c) unauthorized access to or alteration of information, including but not limited to applications and particulars made in the ULAs.
