Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors, Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee
Introduction
The Government established in January 1998 a Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee ("BLPSC") to provide advice and steer on the overall strategy and key aspects for promoting the Basic Law, and to monitor, evaluate and review promotional programmes undertaken by government departments and non-governmental organisations. The 2022 Policy Address has announced that BLPSC is renamed as the Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee ("CBLPSC"), so as to underline the utmost importance the Government attaches to the promotion of the Constitution and our determination to take forward the work.
CBLPSC has set up five working groups to direct its promotional efforts at five target groups. The Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors formulates and implements action plans for the promotion of the "one country, two systems" principle, the Constitution and the Basic Law among the industrial, commercial and professional sectors, and aims to foster co-operation and exchange of experience of the Basic Law promotion among the sectors.
