Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC)
Introduction
PECC is a non-governmental regional organisation founded in 1980. It is a unique tripartite partnerships of government officials, business leaders and academics who all participate in their personal capacities to discuss cooperation and policy coordination in areas that would promote economic growth and development in the Pacific region.
PECC is one of the three official observers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). PECC contributes constructively to the APEC process by undertaking various studies and projects for APEC.

Hong Kong Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (HKCPEC)
The HKCPEC was established in March 1990 to co-ordinate Hong Kong, China's participation in PECC. It comprises representatives from the Government, business and academic sectors appointed by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development. The HKCPEC Secretariat is serviced by the Trade and Industry Department. The contact details are:

Major Activities of HKCPEC
Since its establishment, HKCPEC has been participating actively in PECC. Apart from participating in PECC projects, seminars and meetings, the focus of HKCPEC in recent years has been reaching out to the general public in Hong Kong, in particular the business sector and young people. In this regard, HKCPEC has conducted seminars and youth programmes to publicise regional cooperation and the work of PECC and HKCPEC.
