Rough Diamond Trader Registration Circular No. 4/2013

Proposed Amendment of Schedule 7 to the Import and Export (General) Regulations (Cap. 60 sub. leg. A)

The Import and Export (General) Regulations (Amendment of Schedule 7) (No. 2) Notice 2013 ("the Notice") was gazetted on 6 December 2013. The Notice seeks to add the following country to the list of specified countries or places in Schedule 7 to the Import and Export (General) Regulations (Cap. 60 sub. leg. A) with effect from 21 February 2014, subject to the completion of the legislative process :

Schedule 7 specifies the list of countries or places for which the certification scheme for rough diamonds in Hong Kong is effective or as permitted by the Kimberley Process.

2. The Department will make further announcement to confirm the implementation date of the above proposed amendment. Meanwhile, the existing list of specified countries or places in Schedule 7 remains in force until further notice.
