Rough Diamond Trader Registration Circular No. 2/2012

Amendment of Schedule 7 to the Import & Export (General) Regulations (Cap. 60 sub. Leg. A)

The Import and Export (General) Regulations (Amendment of Schedule 7) Notice 2012 has been gazetted ("the Notice"). The Notice seeks to add the following countries to the list of specified countries or places in Schedule 7 to the Import and Export (General) Regulations (Cap. 60 sub. leg. A) :

The Republic of Cameroon
Swaziland

Schedule 7 contains the list of countries or places for which the certification scheme for rough diamonds in Hong Kong (known as the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme) is effective or as permitted by the Kimberley Process.

2.With immediate effect, trade in rough diamonds may be carried out with the Republic of Cameroon and Swaziland under the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.

3.The updated full list of specified countries or places in Schedule 7 is at Annex (pdf format) for information.
