European Union (EU)* : Classification of Categories for Imports of Textile Products
The European Commission (the Commission) has adopted two new Regulations to amend the classification of categories of textile products under its common rules for imports from third countries with effect from 1 January 2013. Details are in Commission Regulations (EU) Nos. 1164/2012 and 1165/2012 published on 8 December 2012, which are accessible from the EU website at:

DETAILS
2.At present, Council Regulation (EEC) No 3030/93 and Council Regulation (EC) No 517/94 stipulate respectively the common rules for imports of certain textile products from third countries and for imports of textile products from certain third countries not covered by bilateral agreements, protocols or other arrangements, or by other specific Community import rules. Annex I to these two Regulations determine the categories of imported textile products by Combined Nomenclature (CN) code. Taking into account the recent amendments to the tariff and statistical nomenclature, certain CN codes in Annex I to these Regulations should also be amended accordingly.
