Introduction
This circular sets out the revised origin criterion for other imitation jewellery of materials not specified elsewhere under Mainland 2009 tariff code 7117 9000.
CEPA Origin Criterion

On 31 May 2009, the Mainland General Administration of Customs issued the Notice No. 29, 2009 which announced the revised CEPA origin criterion for other imitation jewellery of materials not specified elsewhere under Mainland 2009 tariff code 7117 9000 as follows:
"Assembled in Hong Kong and to fulfill the value-added content requirement."

Accordingly, the origin criterion for other imitation jewellery of materials not specified elsewhere classified under Mainland 2009 tariff code 7117 9000 is amended with effect from 1 July 2009. Other imitation jewellery of materials not specified elsewhere which satisfy the above origin criterion are eligible to apply for Certificate of Hong Kong Origin - CEPA ("CO(CEPA)") and claim CEPA tariff preference with effect from 1 July 2009.
