European Union (EU)* : Tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 414/2023 of 21 June 2023, the Council of the EU has adopted a Regulation (EU) 2023/2880 published on 29 December 2023 to amend Regulation (EU) 2021/2283 opening and providing for the management of autonomous tariff quotas of the EU for certain agricultural and industrial products.
2.Autonomous tariff quotas at preferential duty rates apply to products of which the production in the EU is insufficient to meet the specific requirements of the user industries in the EU. Those products can be imported into the EU at reduced or zero duty rates within a specified quota period and volume.
3.Details of the amendment including CN and TARIC codes, product descriptions, quota periods, volumes and duty rates are set out in Article 1 and the Annex of Regulation (EU) 2023/2880 which shall apply from 1 January 2024 and is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:L_202302880.
