Commercial Information Circular No. 861/2023

European Union (EU)* : Impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of bicycles originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 667/2019 of 2 September 2019, the European Commission published a notice C/2023/1260 on 1 December 2023 concerning the impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of bicycles originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. 2.The product concerned is bicycles and other cycles (including delivery tricycles, but excluding unicycles), not motorised, currently falling under CN codes 8712 00 30 and ex 8712 00 70 (TARIC codes 8712 00 70 91, 8712 00 70 92 and 8712 00 70 99). Unless a review is initiated in accordance with the procedure set out in the notice, the anti-dumping measures will expire at midnight of 30 August 2024.

3.Definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the product originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China have been imposed since 10 September 1993. The current rate of anti-dumping duty is 48.5% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price, before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 0.0% to 19.2%).
