Commercial Information Circular No. 788/2023

European Union (EU)* : Impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of tungsten electrodes originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 572/2019 of 29 July 2019, the European Commission published a notice C/2023/479 on 30 October 2023 concerning the impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of tungsten electrodes originating in the Mainland of China. 2.The product concerned is tungsten welding electrodes, including tungsten bars and rods for welding electrodes, containing 94% or more by weight of tungsten, other than those obtained simply by sintering, whether or not cut to length, currently falling under CN codes ex 8101 99 10 and ex 8515 90 80 (TARIC codes 8101 99 10 10 and 8515 90 80 10). Unless a review is initiated in accordance with the procedure set out in the notice, the anti-dumping measures will expire at midnight of 30 July 2024.

3.Definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the product originating in the Mainland of China have been imposed since 14 March 2007. The current rate of anti-dumping duty is 63.5% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price, before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 17.0% to 41.0%).
