Commercial Information Circular No. 612/2023
European Union (EU)* : Energy Labelling of Smartphones and Slate Tablets
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 651/2017 of 2 August 2017, the European Commission has adopted a Delegated Regulation which was published on 31 August 2023 to supplement Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 by establishing requirements for the labelling and the provision of supplementary product information on smartphones and slate tablets, such as information on energy efficiency and repairability. Details are set out in the adopted Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1669 which can be accessed through the following link: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:JOL_2023_214_R_0002. It will enter into force on 20 September 2023 and apply from 20 June 2025.
