United Kingdom (UK) : Result of transition review of the anti-dumping measure on imports of high fatigue performance steel concrete reinforcement bar originating in the Mainland of China
The UK Government published a notice 2023/03 on 1 March 2023 to vary the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of high fatigue performance steel concrete reinforcement bar (rebar) originating in the Mainland of China following the transition review. 2.Salient points of the notice are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | High fatigue performance iron or steel concrete reinforcing bars and rods made of iron, non-alloy steel or alloy steel (but excluding of stainless steel, high-speed steel and silico-manganese steel), not further worked than hot-rolled, but including those twisted after rolling; these bars and rods contain indentations, ribs, grooves or other deformations produced during the rolling process or are twisted after rolling; the key characteristic of high fatigue performance is the ability to endure repeated stress without breaking and, specifically, the ability to resist in excess of 4.5 million fatigue cycles using a stress ratio (min/max) of 0.2 and a stress range exceeding 150 MegaPascal, currently falling under UK Global Tariff commodity codes 72 14 20 00 10, 72 28 30 20 10, 72 28 30 41 10, 72 28 30 49 10, 72 28 30 61 10, 72 28 30 69 10, 72 28 30 70 10 and 72 28 30 89 10, originating in the Mainland of China |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 22.5% of the net, free-at-the-frontier price, before other amounts of import duty (except for two companies whose individual duty rate are 18.4%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 30 July 2021 |
