Commercial Information Circular No. 893/2022

United Kingdom (UK) : Result of transition review of the anti-dumping measure on wire rod products originating in the Mainland of China

The UK Government published a notice 2022/07 on 10 November 2022 to impose the anti-dumping duty on imports of wire rod products originating in the Mainland of China following the transition review. The notice is available at:

2.Salient points of the notice are set out below -

(a) Product : Bars and rods, hot-rolled, in irregularly wound coils, of iron, non-alloy steel or alloy steel other than of stainless steel, currently falling under UK Global Tariff commodity codes 72131000, 72132000, 72139110, 72139120, 72139141, 72139149, 72139170, 72139190, 72139910, 72139990, 72271000, 72272000, 72279010, 72279050, 72279095, originating in the Mainland of China
(b) Rate of duty : 24.0% of the net, free-at-the-frontier price, before other amounts of import duty (except for one company whose individual duty rate is 7.9%)
(c) Effective date : 30 January 2021

The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
