European Union (EU)* : Impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of tartaric acid originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 645/2018 of 3 July 2018, the European Commission published a notice 2022/C 372/03 on 29 September 2022 concerning the impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of tartaric acid originating in the Mainland of China. 2.The product concerned is tartaric acid, excluding D-(-)-tartaric acid with a negative optical rotation of at least 12.0 degrees, measured in a water solution according to the method described in the European Pharmacopoeia, currently falling within CN code ex 2918 12 00 (TARIC code 2918 12 00 90). Unless a review is initiated in accordance with the procedure set out in the notice, the anti-dumping measures will expire at midnight of 30 June 2023.

3.Definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the product originating in the Mainland of China have been imposed since 28 January 2006. The current rate of anti-dumping duty is 34.9% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for one excluded company and two companies whose individual duty rates are 8.3% and 10.1%).
