Commercial Information Circular No. 408/2022
European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of electrolytic chromium coated steel (ECCS) products originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 665/2021 of 24 September 2021, the European Commission published an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/802 on 23 May 2022 to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of ECCS products originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the Regulation are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | Flat-rolled products of iron or non-alloy steel, plated or coated with chromium oxides or with chromium and chromium oxides, also designated as ECCS products, currently falling under CN codes 7210 50 00 and 7212 50 20, originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 77.9% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 33.2% to 53.9%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 24 May 2022 (the duty will apply for six months) |
| (d) Collection of duty | : | The release for free circulation in the EU of the product shall be subject to the provision of a security deposit equivalent to the amount of the provisional duty. |
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
