Commercial Information Circular No. 344/2022

European Union (EU)* : Amendment to Implementing Regulation imposing definitive safeguard measure against imports of certain steel products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 225/2022 of 17 March 2022, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/664 published on 22 April 2022 to amend the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/159 concerning the imposition of definitive safeguard measure against imports of certain steel products.

2.In gist, the Commission has revised the volume of tariff rate quotas and updated the list of developing countries subject to the safeguard measure with the inclusion of certain countries with which the exclusion provided under their Economic Partnership Agreement signed with the EU has expired. The amendment will enter into force on 1 May 2022. 3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
