Commercial Information Circular No. 928/2021

European Union (EU)* : Tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 438/2021 of 29 June 2021, the Council of the EU (the Council) has adopted a Regulation (EU) 2021/2283 to open and provide for the management of autonomous tariff quotas of the EU for certain agricultural and industrial products and repeal Regulation (EU) 1388/2013.

2.Autonomous tariff quotas at preferential duty rates apply to products of which the production in the EU is insufficient to meet the specific requirements of the user industries in the EU. Those products can be imported into the EU at reduced or zero duty rates within a specified quota period and volume. For customs declaration for release for free circulation, the exact quantity of the products for which supplementary units have been provided in the Annex shall be entered.
