European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of optical fibre cables originating in the Mainland of China
Further to the Commercial Information Circulars No. 718/2020 of 28 September 2020 and No. 197/2021 of 31 March 2021, the European Commission published an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/2011 on 18 November 2021 to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of optical fibre cables originating in the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the regulation are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | Single mode optical fibre cables, made up of one or more individually sheathed fibres, with protective casing, whether or not containing electric conductors, currently falling under CN code ex 8544 70 00 (TARIC code 8544700010) |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 44.0% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 19.7% to 31.2%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 19 November 2021 |
3.The registration of imports of optical fibre cables originating in the Mainland of China established is hereby discontinued.
4.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
