European Union (EU)* : Initiation of an expiry review of the anti-dumping measures on aspartame originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 641/2016 of 1 August 2016, the European Commission published a notice 2021/C 303/09 on 29 July 2021 announcing the initiation of an expiry review of the anti-dumping measures concerning imports of aspartame originating in the Mainland of China. The notice is available at:

2.The product under review is aspartame (N-L-α-Aspartyl-L-phenylalanine-1-methyl ester, 3-amino-N-(α-carbomethoxy-phenethyl)-succinamic acid-N-methyl ester), currently falling under CN code ex 2924 29 70 (TARIC code 2924 29 70 05). For details of the proceeding of this review, please refer to the above notice.

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
