Commercial Information Circular No. 493/2021

European Union (EU)* : Impending expiry of anti-dumping measures on okoumé plywood originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 260/2017 of 13 April 2017, the European Commission published a notice 2021/C 227/02 on 12 July 2021 concerning the impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of okoumé plywood originating in the Mainland of China. The notice is available at:

2.The product concerned is plywood consisting solely of sheets of wood, each ply not exceeding 6 mm thickness, with at least one outer ply of okoumé not coated by a permanent film of other materials, falling within CN code ex 4412 31 10 (TARIC code 4412 31 10 10). Unless a review is initiated in accordance with the procedure set out in the notice, the anti-dumping measures will expire at midnight of 7 April 2022.

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of okoumé plywood originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 7 April 2017. The current rate of anti-dumping duty is 66.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 6.5% to 23.5%).
