Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 438/2021

European Union (EU)* : Tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 26/2021 of 7 January 2021, the Council of the EU published a Regulation (EU) 2021/1051 on 28 June 2021 to amend Regulation (EU) 1388/2013 concerning the autonomous tariff quotas for certain agricultural and industrial products.

2.Provision of tariff quotas is to ensure a sufficient and uninterrupted supply of certain agricultural and industrial products which are produced in insufficient quantities in the EU and thereby avoid any disturbances in the market for those products. Within those tariff quotas, products can be imported into the EU at reduced or zero duty rates. Details of the amendments are set out in the Council Regulation (EU) 2021/1051, which can be accessed through the following link:

Yours faithfully,

(Miss Serena YUEN)
