Commercial Information Circular No. 434/2021

European Union (EU)* : Amendment to Implementing Regulation imposing definitive safeguard measure against imports of certain steel products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 888/2020 of 14 December 2020, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1029 on 25 June 2021 to amend the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/159 concerning the imposition of definitive safeguard measure against imports of certain steel products.

2.In gist, the Commission has decided to prolong the safeguard measure until 30 June 2024. The amendment will enter into force on 1 July 2021. Details are set out in the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1029 which is available at:

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to safeguard measures against products from the province.
