Commercial Information Circular No. 413/2021

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of aluminium converter foil originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 819/2020 of 9 November 2020, the European Commission published an implementing regulation (EU) 2021/983 on 18 June 2021 to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of aluminium converter foil originating in the Mainland of China. The implementing regulation is available at:

2.Salient points of the regulation are set out below -

(a) Product : Aluminium converter foil of a thickness of less than 0.021 mm, not backed, not further worked than rolled, in rolls of a weight exceeding 10 kg, currently falling under CN code ex 7607 11 19 (TARIC codes 7607 11 19 60 and 7607 11 19 91).
(b) Rate of duty : 29.1% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 16.0% to 29.1%).
(c) Effective date : 19 June 2021 (the duty will apply for six months).
(d) Collection of duty : The release for free circulation in the EU of the product shall be subject to the provision of a security deposit equivalent to the amount of the provisional duty.
