Commercial Information Circular No. 197/2021

European Union (EU)* : Registration of optical fibre cables originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 718/2020 of 28 September 2020, the European Commission published an implementing regulation (EU) 2021/548 making the imports of optical fibre cables originating in the Mainland of China subject to registration for nine months from 31 March 2021. 2.The product subject to registration is single mode optical fibre cables, made up of one or more individually sheathed fibres, with protective casing, whether or not containing electric conductors, currently falling under CN code ex 8544 70 00 (TARIC code 8544 70 00 10). Please refer to the above implementing regulation for further details.

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact GONG Zhihong, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 6201. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
