Commercial Information Circular No. 196/2021

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a definitive anti-dumping duty and definitively collecting the provisional duty on imports of aluminium extrusions originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 788/2020 of 29 October 2020, the European Commission published an Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/546 on 30 March 2021 to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty and definitively collect the provisional duty on imports of aluminium extrusions originating in the Mainland of China. The Implementing Regulation is available at:

2.Salient points of the regulations are set out below -

(a) Product : Bars, rods, profiles (whether or not hollow), tubes, pipes; unassembled; whether or not prepared for use in structures (e.g. cut-to-length, drilled, bent, chamfered, threaded); made from aluminium, whether or not alloyed, containing not more than 99.3% of aluminium, currently falling under CN codes ex 7604 10 10, ex 7604 10 90, 7604 21 00, 7604 29 10, 7604 29 90, ex 7608 10 00, 7608 20 81, 7608 20 89 and ex 7610 90 90 (TARIC codes 7604 10 10 11, 7604 10 90 11, 7604 10 90 25, 7604 10 90 80, 7608 10 00 11, 7608 10 00 80, 7610 90 90 10).
(b) Rate of Duty : 32.1% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 21.2% to 32.1%)
(c) Effective Date : 31 March 2021
(d) Collection of duty : The amounts secured by way of the provisional anti-dumping duty under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1428 shall be definitively collected. The amounts secured in excess of the definitive rates of the anti-dumping duty shall be released.
