Commercial Information Circular No. 747/2020

European Union (EU)* : Impending expiry of anti-dumping measures on molybdenum wires originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 541/2016 of 30 June 2016, the European Commission published a notice 2020/C 327/08 on 5 October 2020 concerning the impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures on imports of molybdenum wires originating in the Mainland of China.  The notice is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:52020XC1005(02)&from=EN.

2.The product concerned is molybdenum wire, containing by weight at least 99.95% of molybdenum, of which the maximum cross-sectional dimension exceeds 1.35mm but does not exceed 4.0mm, currently falling within CN code ex 8102 96 00 (TARIC codes 8102 96 00 11 and 8102 96 00 19).  Unless a review is initiated in accordance with the procedure set out in the notice, the anti-dumping duty will expire at midnight of 30 June 2021.

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the product originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 30 June 2016.  The current rate of anti-dumping duty is 64.3% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty.
