European Union (EU)* : Authorising an Extension of Use of Chia Seeds as a Novel Food and the Change of Its Conditions of Use and Specific Labelling Requirements
Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 1029/2018 dated 14 November 2018, the European Commission has adopted an Implementing Regulation to authorise an extension of use of chia seeds (Salvia hispanica) as a novel food and the change of its conditions of use and specific labelling requirements. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/2470 which establishes the Union list of novel foods is correspondingly amended.
