Commercial Information Circular No. 539/2019

European Union (EU)* : Results of expiry review of anti-dumping measures on ceramic tableware and kitchenware originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 480/2018 of 16 May 2018, the European Commission has published an implementing regulation to maintain the definitive anti‑dumping duty imposed on imports of ceramic tableware and kitchenware originating in the Mainland of China following the expiry review.  The regulation is available at https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32019R1198&from=EN.

2.Salient points of the regulation are set out below – 

(a) Product : Ceramic tableware and kitchenware, excluding ceramic condiment or spice mills and their ceramic grinding parts, ceramic coffee mills, ceramic knife sharpeners, ceramic sharpeners, ceramic kitchen tools to be used for cutting, grinding, grating, slicing, scraping and peeling, and cordierite ceramic pizza-stones of a kind used for baking pizza or bread, currently falling under CN codes ex 6911 10 00, ex 6912 00 21, ex 6912 00 23, ex 6912 00 25 and ex 6912 00 29 (TARIC codes 6911 10 00 90, 6912 00 21 11, 6912 00 21 91, 6912 00 23 10, 6912 00 25 10 and 6912 00 29 10)
(b) Rate of Duty : 36.1% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty
(except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 13.1% to 23.4%)
(c) Effective Date : 16 July 2019
(d) Duration : 5 years

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact Li Xuefei, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 8620 3881 6201.  The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
