Commercial Information Circular No. 581/2018

European Union (EU)* : Regulation on Organic Production and Labelling of Organic Products

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 1155/2017 dated 15 December 2017, the European Commission has adopted a Regulation on organic production and labelling of organic products and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007.  The Regulation establishes the principles of organic production and lays down the rules concerning organic production, related certification and the use of indications referring to organic production in labelling and advertising, as well as rules on controls additional to those laid down in Regulation (EU) 2017/625.  Details are set out in Regulation (EU) 2018/848, which can be accessed through the following link:
