Commercial Information Circular No. 329/2018

European Union (EU)* : Initiation of safeguard investigation concerning steel products

The European Commission (the Commission) has published a notice initiating a safeguard investigation on steel products listed in the Annex to the notice at
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:52018XC0326(02)&from=EN.

2.All interested parties, including exporting producers and their associations, are invited to make their views, submit information and to provide supporting evidence within 21 days from 26 March 2018. Interested parties may make themselves known and request a questionnaire by contacting the Commission within 15 days from 26 March 2018. They may also apply to be heard by the Commission investigation services within 21 days from 26 March 2018. Please refer to the notice for contact details. If necessary, a reasoned request for a hearing with or intervention of the Hearing Officer, who reports directly to the Commissioner for Trade of the EU, may be made in writing within 15 days from 26 March 2018.

3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject products from the Guangdong Province, please contact Huang Jinxiang, Director of Trade Remedy Division under the Fair Trade Bureau of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 8620 3881 9083. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to safeguard investigations against products from the province.
