Commercial Information Circular No. 180/2018

European Union (EU)* : Registration of imports of new and retreaded tyres for buses or lorries originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circulars No. 702/2017 of 15 August 2017 and No. 929/2017 of 27 October 2017, the European Commission (the Commission) has published an implementing regulation making the imports of new and retreaded tyres for buses or lorries originating in the Mainland of China subject to registration for nine months from 3 February 2018. The regulation is available at:

2.The Commission considers that there is sufficient evidence to justify making the imports of the product subject to registration, so that measures may subsequently be applied against those imports from the date of such registration.

3.Salient points of the regulation are set out below -

(a) Product : New and retreaded tyres for buses or lorries with a load index exceeding 121, currently falling within CN codes 4011 20 90 and ex 4012 12 00 (CN codes are given for information only)
(b) Time Limit for Making Requests : All interested parties are invited to make their views known in writing, to provide supporting evidence, or to request with reasons to be heard in writing within 21 days from 2 February 2018.
