Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 618/2016

European Union (EU)* : Termination of a partial interim review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of threaded tube or pipe cast fittings, of malleable cast iron, originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 169/2016 of 12 February 2016, the European Commission (the Commission) has published an implementing decision to terminate the partial interim review of the anti-dumping measures applicable to imports of threaded tube or pipe cast fittings, of malleable cast iron, originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China (the product). The implementing decision can be accessed through the following link:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32016D1176&from=EN

DETAILS

2.On the basis of a request lodged by Metpro Limited ('the applicant'), the Commission initiated an investigation on 25 November 2015 to ascertain whether electrical conduit fittings (elbows, bends and T-shaped) with a standard metric thread pitch of 1.5 mm according to ISO Metric Form BS3643 (‘the product for potential exclusion’) should be excluded from the product scope under the anti-dumping measures.

3.On the basis of the applicant's withdrawal of its request, the Commission considered that the review should be terminated since the investigation had not brought to light any consideration showing that such termination would not be in the EU's interest. Interested parties were informed and given an opportunity to comment and no comments were received that would lead to a different conclusion. The implementing regulation shall enter into force on 20 July 2016.

BACKGROUND

4.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of the product had been imposed since 15 May 2013 at a rate of 57.8% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price, before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 24.6% to 57.8%).
