European Union (EU)* : Results of an Expiry Review and Partial Interim Reviews of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Citric Acid Originating in the Mainland of China, and Acceptance of an Undertaking Offered in connection with the Anti-dumping Proceeding concerning Imports of Citric Acid Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 959/2013 of 2 December 2013, the European Commission (the Commission) has published an implementing regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of citric acid originating in the Mainland of China following an expiry review and a number of partial interim reviews. The Commission has also adopted an implementing decision to accept an undertaking offered in connection with the anti-dumping proceeding on imports of citric acid originating in the Mainland of China. 3.Meanwhile, the Commission has accepted the undertakings offered by the exporting producers whose names are listed in Article 1 of the implementing decision together with the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters. The Chamber and the producers shall be exempted from the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of citric acid originating in the Mainland of China.

BACKGROUND

4.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of citric acid originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 4 December 2008 and the duty in force is 42.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for seven companies whose individual duty rates range from 15.3% to 42.7%). On 30 November 2013, the Commission initiated an expiry review and a number of partial interim reviews.
