European Union (EU) * : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Monosodium Glutamate Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No.954/2013 of 29 November 2013, the European Commission has published an implementing regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of monosodium glutamate originating in the Mainland of China following an expiry review.The implementing regulation can be accessed through the following link :

2.Salient points are set out below:

(a) Product : Monosodium glutamate, currently falling within CN code ex 2922 42 00 (TARIC code 2922 42 00 10)
(b) Rate of Duty :
39.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for two companies whose individual duty rates are 33.8% and 36.5%)
(c) Effective Date :
23 January 2015
(d) Duration : 5 years

BACKGROUND

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of monosodium glutamate originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 3 December 2008 and the duty in force is 39.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for two companies whose individual duty rates are 33.8% and 36.5%). On 29 November 2013, the European Commission initiated an expiry review.
