Commercial Information Circular No. 739/2015

European Union (EU)* : Energy Labelling of Professional Refrigerated Storage Cabinets

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 1053/2014 dated 11 December 2014, the European Commission has adopted a Regulation concerning the energy labelling of professional refrigerated storage cabinets. DETAILS

2.The Regulation establishes requirements for energy labelling of, and the provisional of supplementary product information on, professional refrigerated storage cabinets. The Regulation shall apply to electric mains-operated professional refrigerated storage cabinets, including those sold for the refrigeration of foodstuffs and animal feed. However, it shall not apply to products listed in Article 1(3) of the Regulation.

3.The responsibilities of suppliers and dealers placing the above-mentioned products on the market are set out in Article 3 and Article 4 of the Regulation respectively. The format and information required for the printed or electronic labels are set out in Annex III. Either label 1 or 2 as specified in Annex III shall accompany professional refrigerated storage cabinets placed on the market from 1 July 2016 while label 2 shall prevail from 1 July 2019.
