European Union (EU)* : Termination of the countervailing proceeding on imports of stainless steel cold-rolled flat products originating in the Mainland of China and repeal of the regulation making these imports originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China, subject to registration

Further to Commercial Information Circulars Nos. 751/2014 of 15 August 2014 and 1065/2014 of 17 December 2014, the European Commission (the Commission) has promulgated an implementing regulation to terminate the countervailing proceeding concerning imports of stainless steel cold-rolled flat products originating in the Mainland of China and to repeal the regulation making these imports originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China, subject to registration. DETAILS

2.On the basis of the complainant's formal withdrawal of its complaint concerning subsidisation of stainless steel cold-rolled flat products, the Commission considered that the present proceeding should be terminated since the respective countervailing investigation had not brought to light any considerations showing that such termination would not be in the Union interest. Interested parties were informed and given an opportunity to comment but no comments were received that would give a reason to reach a different conclusion.

3.In view of the above, the registration of such imports for the purpose of the countervailing proceeding should be discontinued and the regulation of making such products subject to registration should be repealed.

4.The implementing regulation entered into force on 25 July 2015.

OTHER INFORMATION

5.The Commission has imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of stainless steel cold-rolled flat products originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China and the duty in force is 25.2% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 24.3% to 25.2%).
