European Union (EU)* : Amendment to the Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 486/2014 of 26 May 2014, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted two Directives to exempt the use of lead in polyvinyl chloride sensors in in-vitro diagnostic medical devices and the use of mercury in intravascular ultrasound imaging systems from the requirement of the Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
