Commercial Information Circular No. 122/2014

European Union (EU)* : Ecodesign Requirements for Domestic Ovens, Hobs and Range Hoods

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 560/2009 of 6 November 2009, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Regulation specifying the ecodesign requirements for domestic ovens, hobs and range hoods. DETAILS

2.The Regulation establishes the ecodesign requirements for the placing on the market of domestic ovens (including when incorporated in cookers), domestic hobs and domestic electric range hoods, including when sold for non-domestic purposes. However, it shall not apply to the products listed in Article 1(2) of the Regulation.

3.Details of the ecodesign requirements for domestic ovens, hobs and range hoods with respective application dates are set out in Annex I of the Regulation. Measurement and calculation methods are set out in Annex II whereas verification procedure for market surveillance purposes are set out in Annex III. The indicative benchmarks for best-performing domestic ovens, hobs and range hoods can be found in Annex IV of the Regulation.
