European Union (EU)* : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Sulphanilic Acid Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 824/2013 of 16 October 2013, the European Commission has published an implementing regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in the Mainland of China following an expiry review. 2.Salient points are set out below:

(a) Product	:	Sulphanilic acid, currently falling within CN code ex 2921 42 00 (TARIC code 2921 42 00 60)
(b) Rate of Duty	:	33.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty
(c) Effective Date	:	19 December 2014
(d) Duration	:	5 years

BACKGROUND

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China has been imposed since 26 July 2002 and the duty in force is 33.7% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty. Subsequent to an expiry review initiated in July 2007, the definitive anti-dumping duty was maintained for five years with effect from 17 October 2008.

4.The European Commission initiated another expiry review on 16 October 2013. As a result of the review, the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in the Mainland of China is maintained for a further five years with effect from 19 December 2014.
