Commercial Information Circular No. 1053/2014

European Union (EU)* : Energy Labelling of Residential Ventilation Units

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 466/2014 dated 20 May 2014, the European Commission has adopted a Regulation concerning the energy labelling of residential ventilation units.  Details are set out in Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1254/2014 (the Regulation), which can be accessed through the following link:

DETAILS

2.The Regulation establishes requirements of the energy labelling for residential ventilation units.  However, it shall not apply to products listed in Article 1(2) of the Regulation.

3.The responsibilities of suppliers and dealers placing the above-mentioned products on the market are set out in Article 3 and Article 4 of the Regulation respectively.  The specific energy consumption class shall be determined in accordance with the table set out in Annex II while the specific energy consumption, the annual electricity consumption, the annual heating saved, the maximum flow rate and the sound power level shall be determined according to the measurement and calculation methods set out in Annex VIII.  The Regulation shall enter into force on 16 December 2014.
