Commercial Information Circular No. 318/2013

European Union (EU)* : Classification of Certain Goods in the Combined Nomenclature (CN)

The European Commission (the Commission) has adopted four Regulations concerning the classification of certain goods in its commodity classification system, the Combined Nomenclature (CN). The Regulations stipulate the CN classification of articles of wadding of man-made fibres used in the production of filter cigarettes; skincare products composed of non-woven wipes used to remove make-up, tone and purify normal and combination skin; protein substances used for coating cell culture vessels and in combination with a cell culture medium to maintain or grow stem cells; as well as food supplements in gelatine capsules for human consumption to ensure uniform application of the CN by Member States' customs authorities.
