Commercial Information Circular No. 503/2012

European Union (EU)* : Common Authorisation Procedure for Food Enzymes 

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 169/2011 dated 16 March 2011, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Regulation to amend Commission Regulation (EU) No 234/2011 concerning the specific data required for risk assessment of food enzymes. DETAILS

2.Commission Regulation (EU) No 234/2011 establishes a common authorisation procedure for food additives, food enzymes and food flavourings. Taking into account the opinions of the Scientific Committee on Food and the European Food Safety Authority with respect to the data requirements for the evaluation of food enzyme applications, Regulation (EU) No 234/2011 should therefore be amended. For details of the amendments, please refer to Article 1 of this Regulation. The Regulation shall enter into force on 18 July 2012.
