Commercial Information Circular No. 202/2012

European Union (EU)* : Amendments to Directive on the Manufacture, Presentation and Sale of Tobacco Products

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 44/02 dated 8 March 2002, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Directive to amend Annex I of Directive 2001/37/EC concerning the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco products. DETAILS

2.Based on the results of the review of existing knowledge on tobacco labelling and the health effects of tobacco use and of testing of the warnings made on packages, the revision of the current additional warnings is needed in order to maintain and increase their impact, and to take into account the new scientific developments. The details of the revision are set out in Annex I of this Directive.
