Commercial Information Circular No. 61/2011

European Union (EU)* : Amendment to Directive on colours for use in foodstuffs

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 88/2009 dated 18 February 2009, the European Commission (the Commission) has amended Directive 2008/128/EC which lays down specific purity criteria on colours for use in foodstuffs. The amendment has taken into account the assessment result on the safety in use of lycopene as food colour conducted by the European Food Safety Authority.
