European Union (EU)* : Safety Requirements for Internal Blinds, Corded Window Coverings and Safety Devices

The European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Decision setting out the safety requirements to be met by European standards for Internal Blinds, Corded Window Coverings and Safety Devices. DETAILS

2. In order to ensure the internal blinds and other corded window coverings are inherently safe for children, eliminating the risk of strangulation and internal asphyxiation due to accessible cords and small parts, the Decision sets out safety requirements concerning the safe operation of corded window coverings and blinds. In addition, requirements and product safety information for the safety devices are spelt out accordingly. Details are set out in the Annex of the Decision.
