European Union (EU)* : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Tungsten Carbide, Tungsten Carbide Simply Mixed with Metallic Powder and Fused Tungsten Carbide Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 667/2009 of 30 December 2009, the Council of the EU has published a regulation announcing the decisions to maintain the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of tungsten carbide, tungsten carbide simply mixed with metallic powder and fused tungsten carbide originating in the Mainland of China following an expiry review. 2. Salient points are set out below –

BACKGROUND

3. Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tungsten carbide and fused tungsten carbide originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 10 April 1998 at a rate of 33% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty. On 8 April 2003, the Commission initiated an expiry review on the anti-dumping measures. Based on the results of the review investigations, the anti-dumping duty was maintained for another five years since 1 January 2005. 
 

4. The Commission initiated a second expiry review on 30 December 2009. As a result of the review, the definitive anti-dumping duty is maintained for a further five years with effect from 25 March 2011.
