European Union (EU)* : Restrictions on the Marketing and Use of Certain Substances and Mixtures under REACH

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 480/2009 of 24 September 2009, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Regulation amending Annex XVII on the restrictions of the marketing and use of certain dangerous substances, group of substances and mixtures under REACH. With effect from 1 June 2009, REACH has repealed and replaced Council Directive 76/769/EEC on the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to restrictions on the marketing and use of certain dangerous substances and preparations. Following certain revisions previously made on Directive 76/769/EEC, the Commission has revised Annex XVII of the REACH regulation accordingly. Details of revisions are set out in the Annex of the Regulation.
